The 61-year-old actor took to Twitter to share the news and posted pictures from the set of the film. "It is a wrap. Great being part of #ToiletEkPremKatha," wrote Kher.

The actor added that it was fun working on the Shree Narayan Singh-directed film as the project promotes a social cause. Kher also said that it was his 20th movie with Akshay. "Entertainment mixed (with) a cause doubles the joy. My 20th film with @akshaykumar... #JoyRide," he tweeted.

The film, which is based on cleanliness drive, 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan', also stars Bhumi Pedneka.

Recently the news of Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer had got the fans get extremely excited. It was reported that Kapoor and Sons (Since 1921) director Shakun Batra’s assistant Raj Mehta is all set to make his directorial debut with Karan Johar’s banner. Akshay and Kareena will be playing the lead actors in the film which apparently revolves around the lives of two couples.

Soon after this, another set of reports claimed that Bhumi Pednekar and Rajkummar Rao also had been cast to play the younger couple alongside Akki and Bebo. When a daily asked about this new project, Bhumi denied the reports, and said that she has not even been approached for the film.

She further added that she would love to work with Karan for sure but they haven’t discussed this film at all. Looks like Bhumi and Rajkummar are after all not sharing their screen with Akshay and Kareena.

Bhumi Pednekar reveals how she lost weight

Unlike her contemporaries, who went on a strict diet regime to shed those extra kilos, Dum Laga Ke Haisha actress Bhumi Pednekar says she never starved herself to get rid of her fuller figure. According to a PTI report, the Mumbai-born actress, who lost 27 kg since last December, said she thoroughly enjoyed her weight loss journey. "The journey of shedding weight was tough but the only good thing was it did not take a toll on my health. It was all natural and planned. It didn't affect me mentally, which generally happens. But I did have to do a lot of hard work. It was a fun process for me. I really enjoyed doing it. There wasn't any day when I was missing on anything because I was taking the fat-free version of it," she said.

Apparently actress Rani Mukerji, who is married to YRF's head honcho, Aditya Chopra, was also impressed with Bhumi's acting chops. According to a report on Businessofcinema.com, Rani Mukerji had seen a few parts of the film and was impressed with Bhumi's on-screen presence and confidence. The report further stated that Rani wanted to personally meet Bhumi to congratulate her for the manner in which she had handled the role.

Bhumi Pednekar has been a part of the industry since a long time now and it is interesting to watch her pair up with the handsome hunk, Ayushmann Khurrana in her very first film. The aspiring actress seems to be rather quirky when it comes to the films she watches. According to a report on Indiatoday.in, Bhumi Pednekar has watched Kamaal R Khan's film, Deshdrohi, almost 100 times.

Bhumi Pednekar was apparently associated with Yash Raj Films since the past six years. According to a report on Dnaindia.com, Bhumi used to double up as an actor for auditions. The report further quoted YRF's casting director Shanoo Sharma as saying that YRF had signed a three-film deal with Bhumi. Shanoo also commented that she considered Bhumi to be her baby sister. After Parineeti Chopra, who shot to success post her stint in YRF, it seems that Bhumi is all set to repeat history.

According to a report Bhumi had auditioned for the lead role at least 100 times. The report further stated that Bhumi was an active part of the auditions for Dum Laga Ke Haisha and had auditioned 100 girls for the role before auditioning for the same herself. Finally, she was shortlisted to play the lead by director Sharat Kataria.

The character played by Bhumi Pednekar in Dum Laga Ke Haisha is on the heavier side. However, apparently Bhumi was never heavy in real life. According to a report on Indianexpress.com, Bhumi was plump when they started-off with the film but gained 10-15 kgs more for her character, Sandhya. The report further quoted Dum Laga Ke Haisha's director, Sharat Kataria as saying that Bhumi was mentored by Seema Pahwa who plays Bhumi's mother in the film.
