Alia Bhatt, Deepika Padukone, Ira Khan: Bollywood celebrities who were recently trolled on social media

Social media trolls always find ways to target celebrities and spread negativity. Mom-to-be Alia Bhatt was also not spared by trolls. Her delightful balloon dress at the launch of ‘Darlings’ was tagged as a ‘plastic bag’ by one netizen, while another Twitter user took a dig at her pregnancy and commented, “Shame.. she is hiding it because she knows she was pregnant before marriage. I mean how else would Ranbir marry.”

Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone was dragged into the conversation after Ranveer Singh’s latest bare-it-all photoshoot took over the internet by storm. While the actress stepped out for a fashion run to Manish Malhotra’s house, she was trolled by netizens for her outfit. The comments were packed with hate by those mocking Ranveer's nude pictures. From calling her outfit a ‘PPE Kit’ to commenting that the actress had gone to pick up clothes for her husband, DP was subjected to unwarranted remarks, just because she is Ranveer Singh’s better-half.

Ratna Pathak Shah

The veteran actress faced negativity on social media for one of her recent comments. In an interview with a news portal, the actress stated that it was appalling that women in the 21st century continue to practice antiquated customs like karwa chauth. A user compared Ratna Pathak’s comment to Muslim women wearing Hijab and tweeted, "Modern women wearing hijab is 'Freedom of choice' Modern women doing Karva Chauth is 'Appalling'!! Kahaan se laato ho itna doglapan.” Another netizen tweeted, “What a shameful thought ! Dare to say this to people who observe Lent or Roja ? #RatnaPathakShah.”
