Akshay Kumar is dearly missing his mother today and penned an emotional Instagram post in her memory. The video featured spiritual mantra Namastasye Namo Namah playing the backdrop with Akshay staring into the distance. He had captioned the clip, “Yun hi, aaj maa bahut yaad aa rahi hai. (Today I am missing my mother a lot)”.
In early September, Akshay’s mother was admitted to a hospital. The actor was shooting in UK for a movie and had rushed back home to be with her. On September 8, the actor lost his mother. Expressing grief, Akshay had shared on Twitter, “She was my core. And today I feel an unbearable pain at the very core of my existence. My maa Smt Aruna Bhatia peacefully left this world today morning and got reunited with my dad in the other world. I respect your prayers as I and my family go through this period. Om Shanti.”
