Akira Toriyama, the creator of 'Dragon Ball' passed away on March 1, of a blood clot in his brain, his production office Bird Studio said in a statement on Friday. News of his demise sent fans around the world into a state of shock. Among the many mourning Toriyama's demise was Yug Devgan, the son of Bollywood actor Ajay Devgn. The teen, who is also a huge admirer of Akira's work, was reportedly 'heartbroken' on hearing the sad news.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Ajay paid his respects to Akira. The 'Shaitaan' star wrote, "Watching Yug heartbroken makes me feel like if we held all the Dragon Balls, bringing back Akira Toriyama would be our heartfelt wish. He remains a Super Saiyan of inspiration whose legacy influences generations. Rest in POWER, Akira Toriyama."

In a statement on Friday, Akira's team announced his demise in a statement that read, "It's our deep regret that he still had several works in the middle of creation with great enthusiasm. He would have had many more things to achieve. However, he has left many manga titles and works of art to this world."



The team thanked his fans for their support of his creative activities for over 45 years. “We hope that Akira Toriyama's unique world of creation continues to be loved by everyone for a long time to come."

Meanwhile, on the work front, Ajay is riding high on the successful release of his new thriller 'Shaitaan' which also stars R Madhavan, Jyotika, and Janika Bodiwala in pivotal roles. The film directed by Vikas Bahl crossed the Rs 20 crore mark at the worldwide box office on its opening day.
