Adipurush trailer's Hollywood inspiration: Fans draw comparisons on social media

The teaser for Prabhas' Adipurush released a few days ago and ever since it has become a hot topic of discussion between the fans on social media. While some have loved the CGI-driven extravaganza, others have been left unimpressed. A lot of users online have drawn straight comparisons between the shots in the trailer to certain memorable shots from Hollywood movies or Western OTT shows. Fans have been sharing screenshots showing direct comparisons between Adipurush and popular titles like Game Of Thrones, Kong Skull Island, Thor Ragnarok and more. Here's a look at all the fan theories.

2/6

Night King versus Ravana

In one the most critiqued shots from the Adipurush teaser, we see Saif Ali Khan's Ravana riding a bat-like creature as it soars through the sky. Fans were quick to point out a similarity between this shot and an iconic shot from the Game Of Thrones franchise, when the series' antagonist, Night King had flown in on top an ice dragon. Others also compared the Adipurush treatment to the more recent House Of Dragon OTT show, too.

3/6

Vanar Sen versus King Kong

One of the shots in Adipurush that has fuelled the debate on the animation movie-like CGI of the movie features a soldier from the Vanar Sena, charging at the screen and putting out a menacing growl. Fans pointed out that this particular shot was eeriely similar to a moment seen in Kong Skull Island, where King Kong let's out a similar war cry while fighting off a bunch of skullcrawlers.

4/6

Hela versus Ravana

Saif Ali Khan's Ravana from the Adipurush trailer has been the most debated character of all. In one of the shots, we see Ravana walk in front of a dark palace with lots of black, fiendish monsters flying out from the backdrop. Again, eagle-eyed fans spotted the similarities between this shot and an iconic shot from Thor Ragnarok, where Cate Blanchett's Hela walked on the bifrost bridge, just before unleashing her army.

5/6

Rise Of Planet Of The Apes versus Adipurush

Another iconic shot from a Hollywood film finds its counterpart in the Adipurush teaser. The Hollywood remake Rise Of The Planet Of The Apes featured a scene where a gorilla charged down the San Francisco bridge in a heated battle with human policemen. Fans again pointed out that a similar treatment was used in the shot in Adipurush where three gorillas charge towards the screen leading the entire Vanar sena.

6/6

Aquaman versus Ram

Perhaps one of the more far-fetched comparisons on the list, but fans were able to offer their theories on how Prabhas' Ram meditating in a seated position under the sea was somewhat inspired from a similar shot of Aquaman, crouched underwater, commanding a fleet of sharks and other sea creatures. Seeing both frames side-by-side, does compell one to see the similarities.
