Abhi wants to play 'Chandrashekhar Azad'

After playing the patriotic character of Surjya Sen in 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey', Abhishek wishes to play Chandrashekhar Azad next.
Ashutosh Gowarikar’s 'Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’ will be Abhishek Bachchan’s first period film and the actor who plays a Bengali freedom fighter in the film says he wants to do more of such characters now. “I have tasted blood and now I want to do some more characters like this,” said the actor with a smile on his face.
Abhishek reveals that his favorite patriotic character is Chandrashekhar Azad whom he would like to portray onscreen. “I like Chandrashekhar Azad. I have always admired him a lot. I have read about him when I was growing up. My father told me that my grandfather had met him. He was so strong that he sent shivers down the Britisher’s spine.” ‘Alexender The Great’ is another historical character that fascinates him.
Abhishek admits that he didn’t know about Surjya Sen before doing this film. “I did not study Indian history. It’s shameful that I did not know about anti-British revolution in Chittagong”, confesses the actor.
He also claims that shooting for a period film came easy to him. “It’s not challenging to do a period film. In fact it’s easier for you to transport into that time.”
Seems like Abhishek fans will get to see him in some more patriotic characters very soon!
