Ravishankar Alok

committed suicide on Wednesday. Ravishankar, a resident of Seven Bungalows area in

Andheri

(W), ended his life by jumping off from the roof of the building where he lived at around 2 PM on Wednesday, a PTI report stated.


Alok was reportedly involved in the writing of Nana Patekar-starrer '

Ab Tak Chhappan

', the PTI report added further.


The society’s watchman reportedly said that the writer's parents recently stayed with him for a couple of days and left for

Patna

, where the family is based. The watchman also revealed that the terrace of the building is usually locked and he didn't know how Alok gained access to the area.


A guard at an adjacent building reportedly said that he rushed out after hearing a loud thud and found Alok in a pool of blood. An ambulance was immediately called and the police arrived later.


The writer's brother who lived with him, was not home at the time. The Versova police said they had not recovered a suicide note.


Deputy police commissioner (Zone 9) Paramjit Singh Dahiya said an accidental death report had been filed.


Another police officer said Alok had been batting depression for over a year and undergoing treatment for the same.
