Aamir Khan's daughter Ira Khan reveals husband Nupur Shikhare was engaged to someone else when she first met him as her fitness trainer at 17

Aamir Khan’s daughter Ira Khan recently hosted an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on Reddit, where she shared insights into her fitness journey and her relationship with her husband, Nupur Shikhare. Ira revealed that she first met Nupur when he was her fitness trainer, and she was 17 years old. At the time, Nupur was engaged to someone else.

“Well, Popeye and I actually met because he was my fitness trainer when I was 17 and at that time he was engaged to someone else. We worked out together for very long. Actually, once we started dating, we unintentionally stopped working out. He’s been an inspiration for my physical journey long before we started dating,” she wrote.

During the session, a Reddit user asked Ira how being with someone so focused on health has influenced her view on wellness and whether she feels insecure about the fitness gap between them. Ira admitted she sometimes feels guilty about not being as fit as Nupur.




“I feel guilty. Like I’m so unfit and he’s so fit and I’m not doing enough or trying hard enough. He deserves someone fitter. He tells me it’s all in my head. But I do feel those things. I tell myself to feel bad for a bit if I want but then get up and do something about it. It’s been 4 years. I haven’t made my progress but will definitely tell you if I do!!” she wrote.





Ira and Nupur tied the knot earlier this year. They registered their marriage on January 3 in Mumbai and celebrated with a white wedding in Udaipur a few days later. The couple, who got engaged in November 2022, had been dating for a few years before tying the knot. Their relationship has been well-documented on social media, with both often sharing glimpses of their journey together.
