VFX or special effects have emerged as an essential part of storytelling and have added more grandeur to the Bollywood films and the directors’ imaginations. Bollywood has explored every aspect including mythical world and the raw action sequences in its attempt to popularize the use of VFX. Baahubali: The Beginning



​Baahubali: The Beginning was highly effective in setting a new benchmark of VFX of a movie in India. Made by the director S. S. Rajamouli, and with the help of the advanced modern technologies and Paint formulation industry-the look of Mahishmati kingdom, the Battles scenes and of course the breathtaking waterfall scenes were made. As it will be demonstrated by the VFX breakdown of the movie, the team did an excellent job by creating perfect vision and bringing out the epic saga of power, betrayal and heroism. Looking at the movie Baahubali which turned out to be a massive hit it is evident that Indian films can also get better in terms of VFX and can easily match international standards.

​Ra. One​



​ Among Bollywood’s various experiments, one that featured Shah Rukh Khan was one of Bollywood’s biggest sci-fi films with VFX being completely integrated into the plot of the movie. The film used the technique of visual effects that were quite innovative at the time of the production of the film and the creation of the villain Ra. One is the car chase scenes and the other is the fought at the climax. Over 180 artists from around the world and India worked on the film’s VFX which raised the bar of superhero movies in Bollywood besides proving that the industry is capable of delivering good sci-fi fare.

​ Krrish 3​



​Krrish 3 that is third part of Krrish had some of the best superhero VFX work in Bollywood till now. M gohan said the film had challenging visual effects mapping to create mutants, action scenes, and twomain characters of Hrithik Roshan as Krrish and Rohit. The film was helped by its VFX where the team really challenged themselves in terms of what they wanted to do in the Indian film industry in the future. The movie talked about Krrish 3 was another hit mark in Bollywood as far as visuals were concerned and the quality of it had wowed everyone.

​Padmaavat​



​Shooting director Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Padmaavat has breathtaking VFX that recreates the great era of great Rajputs. These factors were helpful in the making of huge palaces, detailed fight scenes and the over- prominence of Alauddin Khilji’s army. These aspects proved useful in creating/adding the historical and the cinematic element to the films because of the good VFX done to the scenes. Padmaavat having beautiful visuals in addition to that engaging story made it a feast for the eyes to watch.

​Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior​



​Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, is another proof of the growth of the VFX in Bollywood movies. Just about every battle, the forts Tanaji and the Marathas stormed, were recreated, with ample help from cutting-edge computer graphics to replicate a 17th-century battlefield. It was possible to visualize the film’s VFX that was deemed highly realistic and rather detailed thus making the historical epic quite interesting to watch and fascinating to the eyes as well. In the recently released Tanhaji, the use of VFX was significant in increasing the dimensions of the historical drama in Indian movie Industry.
