Bhumi Pednekar starrer 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' which released on August 11, 2017, had an unstoppable run at the box office since its release. After maintaining a steady run at the ticket window for four weeks, the film has eventually made way for newer releases in subsequent weeks.

With this, it has become the highest grossing Akshay Kumar film, leaving behind his 2012 film ‘Rowdy Rathore’ which had earned Rs 131.20 crore.
'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha' is a love story set in the Nandgaon region of Mathura and addresses the issue of open defecation. The film also features a 'Toilet Anthem' in the voice of Khiladi Kumar. "The intention to create this song was to make people realize the importance of having toilets in their homes. I want everyone to educate their kids so that they can grow up and bring this big change," Akshay was quoted saying at an event.
