Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Thappad’ hit the screens last week and opened to positive reviews. However the same cannot be said about its box office collection. According to the latest report on Boxofficeindia.com, the film registered a massive growth of 85% growth on its second Saturday and raked in around Rs 1.65 crore nett. With this ‘Thappad’ stands at a total collection of Rs 23.50 crore nett in nine days.
The second Friday recorded massive drop of 67%, decreasing the film’s chances to ensure a good final figure at the box office. Had this decrease been of 50% then maybe ‘Thappad’ could have raked in Rs 35 crore nett.
The
Anubhav Sinha directorial currently has low occupancy all over. The film has done decent business in NCR but was not able to hold on for two weeks like ‘Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan’. ‘Thappad’ is looking at a lifetime business like ‘Bhoot – Part One: The Haunted Ship’.
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Taapsee had shared a post of the entire team from ‘Thappad’ and asked her followers to do their bit towards change, like they did with ‘Thappad’.
