'Gully Boy' box office collection Day 17: The Ranveer Singh starrer musical drama sees a good growth on its third Saturday

Directed by Zoya Akhtar, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer musical drama 'Gully Boy' saw a good boost in the collection on its third Saturday. The film is mainly running in the metro cities and has nearly exhausted its run outside. Based on the stories of underground street rappers of Mumbai, the film has already crossed the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office. The film has garnered rave reviews from the audience and the critics alike. Loosely inspired by the lives of rappers Divine and Naezy, the film released on February 14.



According to the latest report on the Boxofficeindia.com, on its third Saturday, the film has managed to rake in a total of Rs 2 crore at the box office. The film has managed to collect a total of Rs 126.53 crore in seventeen days at the box office.

FYI, 'Gully Boy' had a good extended week as it collected Rs 99 crore in the first eight days. The second week collection of the film stands at a total of Rs 25 crore.


The plot of the film revolves around Murad (Ranveer), a rapper from the slums of Mumbai, who tries to break free and rise above his socioeconomic status with his street rap. Despite being pulled down repeatedly, he beats all the odds to become a successful rapper. Set in Mumbai’s Dharavi slums, the film is inspired by the lives of underground street rappers Divine and Naezy and throws light on Mumbai's rap culture.

'Gully Boy' had its world premiere at the 69th Berlin International Film Festival. Directed by Zoya Akhtar, 'Gully Boy' also stars Kalki Koechlin, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Vijay Raaz and Amruta Subhash in pivotal roles. The film released on 14 February 2019.
