HECT India launches AI-based travel planning platform
Travel among Indians has increased significantly over the last ten years. With better incomes and easy access to online information, more people are travelling, both within India and abroad. While booking flights and hotels is now quick and simple, planning a complete trip remains difficult for many travellers, especially middle-class families.
Even today, many travellers struggle to understand whether their travel plan is practical. Issues such as tight budgets, visa rules, weather, travel time between cities, and peak seasons often create problems later. To address this, Delhi-based travel company HECT India has launched an AI-based travel planning platform that focuses on clarity and realistic planning.
The company started as a self-funded company and combines human travel experience with artificial intelligence. It says its goal is not to replace travel experts with machines, but to use AI as a support system to check whether a travel plan truly works in real life.
Why planning is still a challenge
Large online travel websites make booking fast and easy, but they mostly focus on prices and deals. They do not always help travellers understand whether their full trip is possible, especially when the plan includes multiple cities, visa deadlines, or limited budgets.
For middle-class travellers, this can be stressful. While the desire to travel is strong, poor planning can lead to higher costs, delays, or cancelled plans. In many cases, the real challenge is not booking tickets but knowing whether the trip makes sense.
HECT India’s system reviews each travel request carefully. It checks travel distances, time gaps, visa timelines, weather conditions, and connections before suggesting any itinerary. Travel plans that look good online but are difficult to execute are filtered out early.
AI working behind the scenes
The company’s AI does not directly interact with customers. Instead, it works in the background, helping travel consultants double-check details and identify problems in advance.
According to people familiar with the platform, this method has reduced last-minute changes and misunderstandings between travellers and consultants. By offering fewer but more realistic options, the platform helps travellers make clearer decisions.
A simple and steady approach
HECT India is not trying to make bold claims or disrupt the travel industry. Its focus is on improving everyday travel planning by using technology in a practical way.
As India’s outbound travel continues to grow and rules around transparency become stricter, such models may become more important. Travel businesses that focus on clear information, proper planning, and accountability are more likely to gain trust.
Instead of chasing big numbers or rapid growth, the company is taking a steady path, using AI to support human judgement and make travel planning more reliable.
