5 things you need to know about the upcoming film ‘Back Bencher’

Amidst the glamorous world of the Gujarati film industry is an upcoming movie ‘Back Bencher’ that features the innocence of a school-going kid. The trailer of the film has received a huge response online, and the movie is set to release on July 20. Here are 5 things you need to know about it.

A popular child artist in the lead

Krish Chauhan, a popular child artist, and television personality, is playing the lead character named Gopal in the film. Like any other child, Chauhan is portraying a student who is having a difficulty in studying and prefers to sit on the last bench of the classroom. Chauhan is bullied by other students for his lack of interest in studies and gets into the eye of the teachers and looked upon as a weak student and a ‘Back Bencher,’ by them.

Stand-up comedian to make a debut in the Gujarati film

A popular stand-up comedian in town, Om Bhatt is featuring as an actor in the upcoming Gujarati film. Bhatt also took to his Instagram handle to make the announcement about his debut film in Gujarati cinema. The popular D-town personality who has been well-known for his live performances will be soon be seen on the big screen.

The movie is a Kirtan Patel directorial

‘Back Bencher’ is directed by Kirtan Patel who is currently actively promoting his Gujarati film on his social media handle. Patel recently shared a poster of the film and has uploaded the film’s name as the cover photo on his Facebook page. The film director and producer has the family drama film ‘Bas Ek Chance’ to his credit. From a family-oriented movie, Patel is now presenting a student-centric Gujarati film.

Stellar star cast of the film

The Gujarati film will feature Krish Chauhan, Dharmendra Gohil, Ami Trivedi and Om Bhatt as the lead characters, while popular on-screen personality Rajeev Mehta also has an important role in the upcoming Gujarati flick. Gohil will be seen portraying the role of Chauhan’s father and Trivedi as the mother.

Soothing soundtrack

‘Back Bencher’ has four audio tracks on its YouTube channel offering credit to singers Varenyam Pandya, Abhirup Das and Osman Mir. The tracks 'Mare Pan Hoy Maru Akash' and 'Kya Khovayu Maru Akash' are sung by Pandya. The fun-loving track 'Cycle Mari' is sung by Das, while 'Ek Taro Bole' will have the voice of the popular Gujarati artist Osman Mir.
