Music with a soul at this event

To encourage the classical music traditions of the city, an event was held by cultural organisations recently. The event titled Soul of Benares, was a soulful treat for the music lovers. Known sitar exponent Deobrat Mishra, along with his group of artists, regaled the audience with some raag-based presentations during the programme. The delightful jugalbandi between the artists gave some memorable moments to the event.Deobrat Mishra began with some compositions in Raag Kirwani. He presented a thumri Dagar Beech Kaise Chalu in Raag Khamaj. He concluded his performance with a composition in Raag Bhairavi. Giving a perfect accompaniment were Rakesh Kumar on flute, Om Sahai on sarangi, Prashant Mishra on table and Adiya Deep on pakhawaj.
