School event celebrates the lives of social reformers

An event on the contribution of various social reformers was organised by the students of Class IV of

DPS Ranchi

. The programme began with a poetry recitation session that threw light on the impact of social evils and practices like female infanticide, child marriage and untouchability that plague our society. A skit was also present by the kids where they portrayed the characters of Mahatma Gandhi,

Baba Amte

, Raja Ram Mohan Roy, Swami Dayanand Saraswati, Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar and Swami Vivekananda, narrating their remarkable contributions towards the eradication of such customs and practices from Indian society. The programme concluded with a dance performance by the students on the theme of unity in diversity.
