City celebrates Bihar Diwas with elan
A three-day grand celebration, organised at various places across Patna to mark the 107th Bihar Diwas, concluded on Sunday. The event was inaugurated by state chief secretary Deepak Kumar at the SK Memorial Hall, where Bihar governor Lalji Tandon, chief minister Nitish Kumar and deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi and other important officials were also present. This was followed by a rendition of the song, Mere Bharat Ke Kanth Haar Tujhko Shat Shat Bandan Bihar.
Then started a performance by singer Richa Sharma, who enthralled the audience with songs like Taal Se Taal Mila, Mahi Ve, Dholi Taaro, Lambi Judaai and Zindagi Me Kabhi Koi Aaye Na Rabba.
The highlight of the second day was a performance by singer Kavita Seth, along with a plethora of other colourful cultural functions. Kavita Kumari, a college student, told us, “My friends and I enjoyed a lot. The series of cultural functions were entertaining. We especially loved to Richa Sharma’s live performance.”
Sharing similar views, Rohit Singh, a college student, said, “The crowd went crazy when Richa Sharma sang Tu Lagawe Jo Lipistik. Though this was her third visit to Patna, I got to see her perform live for the first time and I just loved it.”
Pratik Gupta, an engineer present at the event, added, “I extend my greetings to the people of Bihar on this occasion. Our state has progressed a lot in the past few years in all fields. We must be proud of it and keep working hard to do even better.”
Over all, it was a fest that charged up most Patnaiites.
