The scene both inside and outside the venue said it all. With more than 5,000 people tapping their feet to the dandiya beats, the event was rocking!
The programme kicked off with the invocation and aarti of Goddess Durga by Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Vilas Muttemwar and actor Sayali Bhagat.
The venue wore a festive look as pretty gals decked up in multi-coloured chaniya cholis with mirror work and designer kurtis and boys in their traditional kedias and turbans, matched their steps beautifully to some of the popular dandiya numbers.
But the crowd couldn't resist clapping and cheering when Sayali clad in a lovely white designer top and blue skirt, asked the crowd to shake a leg with her on her popular number Woh Ajnabee. The mood was upbeat as the young dance enthusiasts were seen moving in perfect synchrony.

The colourful dresses created a kaleidoscope of colours as the boys and girls danced to the beats and moved around.
The eye-catchers were Vilas Muttemwar, his wife Chhaya, Sunil Raisoni and his wife Shobha and Sayali Bhagat. Sayali, was seen mingling with the crowd. Says Sayali, "It is wonderful to be here in Nagpur during the Navratri.
The festive fever has gripped the city and it can be seen everywhere. My dad being a Gujju, Dandiya is in my blood and I love to dance. I am really privileged to be a part of this event."
