And going by the looks of it, none passed up the chance either – to share some time with the community brethren! Begun with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, the cultural evening included a dance ballet Khichdi by Shalini Chandra; rendition of the bhajans by Shrasti Mathur and a short classical concert by Neeta Mathur who had been called specially for the event from Delhi.
Neeta’s khayals and thumris in Raag Maru Bihag and Purya Dhanashri held the audience enraptured.
However, what really caught the audience’s eye was another short ballet Indra Dhanush which presented the different moods of women, through the hues of a rainbow. Directed by Sonia and Arti, the ballet was much appreciated by everyone present. The audience included P G Mathur, former GM PCDF, Satish Mathur from the Directorate of Health, Retd. GM SBI D M Mathur and FCI's Kuldeep Mathur and Kusumangini who played the main organiser.
