We were expecting a great response at HR College to the Clean & Clear Bombay Times Fresh Face 2010 contest and boy, we sure did get one! The audio/visual room of the college soon filled up with eager students and contestants got ready for the judge, singer Shibani Kashyap (who had just flown in that morning from Jaipur and made her way straight to the gig) and the Bombay Times judge.
Radio Mirchi RJ Suren soon got things going (Radio Mirchi is the radio partner of this contest). Tejas Bailur strummed a rousing version of a Nirvana song from the In Utero album while Sanchi Paingy channelled her inner Shakira with ‘Waka Waka’. Veer Mulraj displayed his compositional skills while Ajayvir Singh did a mock-ramp walk. Girisha Lakhani was too good with her dance number, and as always so far, the most popular bollywood numbers were Sheila Ki Jawani and Munni.
However, Sanaya Daruwala was superb with her acting skit and personality and Sahil Raina was charming as well. There was no hesitation that they were the winners. The runners-up were Deepak Khasturi and Naveli Reshamwala, who answered the final question, ‘What would you do if you were stuck in an elevator with one of the male contestants’ quite entertainingly. The event wrapped up, but not before Shibani took the acoustic guitar and sang one of her hits to cheers that resounded down the college corridors!
