way back in 2017 and since then we have seen more and more people coming by to help. In fact, in the last nine days of

, we had 3,00 Mumbaikars coming to assist us. What was nice, was that this year, we saw that POP (Plaster of Paris) murtis were less seen on the beach, which shows that people are becoming more environment-conscious."

Totally 1,600 tonnes of garbage have been collected from Dadar since their effort began. Not only students, but several celebrities have been lending their support and voice to the beach warrior's efforts. "Amrita Rao had done a pre-Ganpati awareness video, which was hashtagged #EcoBappaMorya, to create awareness among people to stop using POP idols and start using eco-friendly products. Other celebs also have shown support. Dia Mirza has been part of the clean-up, so have Sushant Singh, Esha Gupta, Kirti Kulhari and Kavita Kaushik.
