Cast of Shanghai entertain Kanpur

BAS TERA INTEZAR: The star struck in UP are used to their idols keeping them waiting and it was no different when the cast of “Shanghai” –- Abhay Deol, Kalki Koechlin and Emraan Hashmi – along with director Dibakar Banerjee came down for a visit to Kanpur and Lucknow earlier this week to promote their latest film. Kanpur Ki Jai: Raucous shouts and hooting accompanied the stars’ entry at the mall in Kanpur with people nearly breaking the barriers.Seeing their enthusiasm, Emraan took out his cell phone to click pictures of the enthusiastic crowd. “Kanpur ki jai…Aap logon ke beech mein main bahut excited hoon kyunki jab bhi mein Kanpur aata hoon aap log mujhe bahut pyar dete hain. Last time mein “Murder” ke promotions ke liye aaya tha. Tab jo pyar aap logon ne diya tha ussey mein aaj tak nahi bhoola hoon,” said Emraan while waving to the fans, prompting them to shout “Emraan Hashmi zindabaad”.
Star Speak: After Emraan it was Abhay’s turn to reach out to his fans. “Hello Kanpur. Kaise hain aap sab? Mein “Oye Lucky Lucky Oye” ke promotion ke liye yahan aaya tha, par aaj aap sabko dekh ke bahut achha lag raha hai. Aaj humse mil liye hain ab aap sab hamari film release hote hi usse bhi miliyega,” said he. Later, on the crowds’ insistance, the three danced on the song “Bharat Mata Ki Jai”, from the film. “Seeing Emraan, Abhay and Kalki dancing on my favourite track in front of me was unbelievable,” said Parul, one among the crowd present at the mall. In Lucknow it was only Emraan and Kalki who made an appearance at a mall while Dibakar and Abhay left early in the morning for Mussoorie where a special screening of “Shanghai” was organized for IAS officers.
It was Emraan who took the lead in media interactions in Lucknow, while Kalki held her own. When asked who did she find a tougher director, Dibakar or her husband Anurag Kashyap, she promptly answered, “Oh, definitely Dibakar. He’s stricter than any director I have ever worked with.
