On Monday afternoon, excitement surrounding the Clean & Clear Calcutta Times Fresh Face 2011 reached fever pitch as the team headed to Jadavpur University.
While hundreds queued up at the registration counter, girls were overjoyed knowing that two of them who win this contest will get a chance to become the face of Clean & Clear. Emcee Sidhu was more than eager to break into those brief chit-chats everytime a contestant came up on stage to introduce himself.

“I still remember the long addas we used to have in JU canteens and how many of our band’s popular songs started from here,” Sidhu reminisced nostalgically.
Be it a fresher from the International Relations or Electrical Engineering department, the energy of participants was at its peak. Some were even seen rehearsing before they clambered on to the stage. There was pin-drop silence in the auditorium when Soham Das juggled a football. Sidhu said, “Footballer Alvito D’Cunha is the judge for the event and Soham is trying to impress him by showing some football tricks. But I must admit that this is for the first time that I am seeing such talent!” Among the girls, it was Ankita Ghosh, who stole the show with her graceful dance moves and was declared the winner. Shruti Suman made some Madhuri Dixit like moves to “Aja nachle” and was adjudged the first runner-up.
The chirpy Saswati Sinha walked away with the second runner-up’s title after she wowed the crowd with her vibrant dance moves to “Hai Rama”. THE TITLE GOES TO: Alvito was seen having a tough time selecting the winners. “Each of the contestants is a winner in his own way. I am amazed to see the deadly combination of intellect and talent,” said a visibly impressed Alvito. Among the boys, Divya Surana bagged the winner’s title. Siddhartha Barua was adjudged the first runner-up as he danced to DJ Aditya’s music. Priyang Ghosh, who mesmerized all by stepping up in style to “Ek pal ka jeena”, was adjudged the second runner-up.
