The 7th International Theatre
Festival of Kalindi Bratyajan — a five-day-long theatre carnival — showcased more than 10 local and international plays, including ones from
Egypt
, Russia, Italy and other countries.
The event’s convener, thespian Bratya Basu, said, “We wanted to offer a glimpse of the various experiments being carried out worldwide in the world of theatre.” Kalindi Bratyajan’s new production, Oh Swapno, also premiered during the fest. Written by Badal Sircar, the play is directed by Prithiwis Rana. “We are glad that the play got such positive reviews. What can be a better platform to premiere a play?” the director told us.
