To make kathakali appreciation easier, Drishyavedi, one of the oldest kathakali clubs in Thiruvananthapuram has begun a four-month course that introduces the different nuances of the art form. The programme is organised as part of its annual fest that will be held in October and will see the team celebrating the complete Aattakatha works of Kottayathu Thampuran.

Eminent film maker Adoor Gopalkrishnan inaugurated the programmes while wellknown Aattakatha writer Dr P Venugopalan described the historical background of the four poems written by Thampuran. The first day had Kalamandalam Sudeep Kumar and team demonstrating Kalyana Sougandikam.
