On the occasion of the UN World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, Traffic Police Jaipur, Muskaan Foundation for Road Safety, Mohan Foundation and Jaipur Citizen Forum and Neuro Trauma Society Rajasthan along with bereaved family members paid a floral tribute to those who had succumbed to
road accidents. With full adherence of Covid-19 protocol, the event was organized at Yaadgar Jaipur Police Head Quarter in the presence of a small number of guests.
A candle was lit by the chief guest and all present offered ‘shradhanjali’ by holding lit up diyas in their hands. Not many words were spoken but a silent pledge was taken to Remember, Support and Act to reduce accidents on the roads by all present as the real tribute to the memory of lives lost on the roads.
Right before the event at Yaadgar, Muskaan Volunteers conducted an On Road Campaign under the supervision of Traffic Police holding placards with safety messages at the Ajmeri Gate crossing. The campaign will continue for two more days at other busy crossings of the city.
DCP Traffic Jaipur Adarsh Sidhu said, ‘The real tribute to the families of the victims would be to make a resolution to ‘Remember, Support and Act,’ to reduce road accidents by being good citizens.”
