“Indore is my kind of place”: Sanjay Gagnani

In

Indore

to attend a friend's wedding,

Sanjay Gagnani

, who plays Prithvi Malhotra in

Kundali Bhagya

takes a day off from work and festivities to visit the city like a local with us, travelling in autos and relishing the street food. Beginning his Indore darshan with the heritage structure Krishnapura Chattri, Sanjay is amused by how quickly he reached his destination. “Undoubtedly, Indore is really really clean, but I was also fascinated by how clutter free life is here. I mean I’m staying in the suburbs here, and it still took me just half an hour to reach old town” he says.

As he had been filled with stories about the famous Indori street food, we proceeded to

Rajwada

market to get him to taste some bhutte ka kees and

garadu

– winter specialties. Hailing an auto like a pro, he decided to commute to the street market like a local. “But I always travel by auto in Mumbai. Udhar kitna bhi gaadi ho aapke paas, bachata toh auto hi hai. Who would want to get into the hassle of driving through crazy traffic there and it is time saving for me too rather than wait for a cab” adds the actor.

Trying out street food at Rajwada. He liked the bhutte ka kees

The slightly sweet, slightly tangy taste is great. Plus I had never heard of anything like this anywhere!” he says while polishing off the dish. After having a couple of other dishes he gives his verdict “Indore is my kind of place – foodwise! It has everything a foodie wants”.
