Colourful ghoomar celebration in the city

The Royal Kshatrani Sangam group organised a programme Satrangi Ghoomar for all its members on the weekend. The ladies of the group turned up wearing multi-hued and grand rajputi poshak for the celebration, complete with adornments of astra-shastra (battle weapons) like katar, talwar that have been in their families for years.

Besides the dress-up, there was also a discussion of the importance and usage of the weapons they brought for display.Organisers Chandraprabha Singh Rathod, Kiran Bais, Soniya Gaud and Sapna Rathod also narrated the stories of the brave kshatranis from past. And invariably there was ghoomar dance, followed by a typical Rajasthani feast.
