Guru Randhawa Teams Up With LE SSERAFIM for Global Remix of ‘BOOMPALA’ in Landmark India–Korea Collaboration
In a significant crossover between the Indian and Korean music industries, Punjabi pop star Guru Randhawa has joined forces with K-pop sensation LE SSERAFIM for the official global remix of the group's hit track BOOMPALA.
The collaboration marks a first for both artists: Guru Randhawa's debut in the K-pop space and LE SSERAFIM's first-ever musical partnership with an Indian artist. The remix, released through Warner Music India, brings together two of Asia's most influential contemporary music forces in a move aimed at expanding the song's global appeal.
The release follows the success of LE SSERAFIM's second studio album PUREFLOW pt. 1, which debuted at No. 10 on the Billboard 200 and topped Billboard's Top Album Sales chart. The original version of BOOMPALA, a Latin house-inspired track built around elements of the iconic Macarena, quickly gained international traction, entering the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart.
The remix injects a distinctly Indian flavour into the song, with Randhawa adding Punjabi verses and his trademark energetic style to LE SSERAFIM's vibrant production. The result is a multilingual track that blends Korean, English, Spanish and Punjabi influences into a festival-ready anthem designed for a global audience.
Over the years, Randhawa has built an international profile through collaborations with artists such as Pitbull, Jay Sean, The Chainsmokers, Rick Ross and French Montana. Widely regarded as one of the most-streamed Punjabi artists worldwide, he has consistently pushed the boundaries of Indian pop on the global stage.
Speaking about the collaboration, Randhawa said, "LE SSERAFIM is incredible and BOOMPALA already has an infectious energy that reminds me of the massive, celebratory vibe we love in India. Bringing a touch of my signature style to a Latin-house K-pop track sampling Macarena felt like a beautiful masterpiece. I can't wait for fans worldwide to dance to this."
The members of LE SSERAFIM — KIM CHAEWON, SAKURA, HUH YUNJIN, KAZUHA and HONG EUNCHAE — said the partnership reflects the group's desire to connect people across cultures through music.
"When we created BOOMPALA, our goal was to bring people together across different generations and cultures through a shared, festival-like energy. Guru's incredible artistry brought a vibrant new dimension to the track, and we're excited to connect with fans in India and around the world through this collaboration," the group said.
Beyond its dance-floor appeal, the remix builds on the themes explored in PUREFLOW pt. 1, including self-discovery, resilience and overcoming fear. By merging diverse musical traditions and languages, the track underscores a message of inclusivity and shared celebration.
The remix of BOOMPALA (feat. Guru Randhawa) is now available across major streaming platforms worldwide, marking a new chapter in the growing musical exchange between India and South Korea.
