Rani Mukerji inaugurates NCW’s ‘Wall of Fame’ in New Delhi
The National Commission for Women organised a special programme titled 'Voices of Grace and Grit' at its office in New Delhi, with film actor Rani Mukerji as the main guest. The event focused on women’s leadership, representation and changing roles in society.
Speaking at the event, Rani Mukerji said that many of the characters she has played in her career have centred on women and their stories. She shared that women today are leading institutions and shaping society. She also pointed out that India currently has a woman President. She added that women are capable of managing both their professional goals and family responsibilities with balance and determination.
Smt. Vijaya Rahatkar echoed these views. She said the idea of “mother’s guilt” does not belong in a progressive society. She noted that women today are confidently handling duties at home and at work. She also said women should feel proud of their many roles and their ability to lead. The programme highlighted the growing space women are creating across fields, including cinema and public life.
