A musical treat for Chennaiites

Chennai was recently witness to a musical production that brought back the magic of the 60s.
The all-star, high-school musical drama Grease kicked into top gear with an energetic rendition of the title track Grease is the Word. This was soon followed by an array of evergreen numbers including Summer Nights, Hopelessly Devoted to You and You’re the One That I Want, which chronicled the blooming of romance between the two young protagonists Danny and Sandy, who keep falling in and out of love with each other.The high point of the show was the live music, with the actors doubling up as singers and dancers too. Audiences were in for a cheeky guffaw as well, when midway, a trio of male actors broke into a dance routine draped in something that resembled a hand towel!
