Self-defence training for girls
The summer camps organised by Women and Child Support Unit (WCSU) of the Chandigarh police under the Swayam programme is helping girls pick up self-defense tips. While making them self-confident and alert to respond to attacks, the camps also trained them to stay strong and balanced in adverse situations.
Total 375 participants from different age groups participated in the programme.

Recently, during the closing ceremony of the summer camp, held at Police Lines in Sector-26 the participants demonstrated various techniques they learnt during the training period. Later, cultural activities were also done on the occasion. According to the police, the purpose of the training was to equip young girls with the basic self-defense skills. SSP UT, Nilambari Jagadale talked about the initiatives taken by the Swayam team of the unit. ASP Neha Yadav was also present during the function.
