Manika Sheokand appointed Goodwill Ambassador of Haryana’s water conservation campaign

Goodwill Ambassador

of Water Conservation Campaign for the Haryana Government. At the event held in Chandigarh, Manika was handed the appointment letter and agreement for this ambassadorship by Haryana CM,

Manika, who has roots in Uchana in Jind district and is a B.Tech in Chemical Engineering, had expressed her keenness to associate with the government for their projects on environment when she had met the Haryana CM soon after being crowned in February this year.

On the occasion, Manika said, “I am a farmer’s daughter. I feel their pain at the loss of yield due to unpredictable weather conditions. I want to help them by raising awareness on water conservation. Nature has given its bounty of natural resources like water, but it is for fulfilling a need, not greed.”
While appointing Manika as the Goodwill Ambassador, Manohar Lal said, “The water table is fast depleting and life is not possible without water. Just as time is precious, so is water. We are hopeful that Manika’s support to this campaign will help conserve water.”
