Yashodhara festival culminates with Vritti Nashak

The Yashodhara festival ended with the play Vritti Nashak. Directed by senior theatre artist Vaishali Gupta the revolves around a group of monkeys and a learned man. Two monkeys Nandiya and Chulanandiya leave their entire empire to be with their blind mom. One day a man comes to kill the blind mother but the Nandiya comes and says that kill me and leave my mother. The man kills Nandiya then again he points at the mother then the younger son Chulanandiya comes and sacrifices his life for his mother. At last the man kills the blind mother monkey too. In the meanwhile the man’s house is struck by lighting and he loses his family. Then he remembers the wise words of Buddha that a person who has a stone heart ends up sad and loses everything.
