Tribal dance keeps Bhopalis enthralled
A two-day Lokotsav was organized at Madhya Pradesh Tribal Museum, in which Bhil Bhagoria dance was presented by Ajay Sisodia and partner on the first day. Bhagoria Haats are organized before Holi in the season of Phagun. Bhagoria Haat is not just a haat but a meeting fair of young men and women. Young men and women from the Bhil tribe dressed in colorful costumes, singing and dancing, join the haat with the group dance Gehar. While here, these men and women find their life partner and run away to tie the knot, hence the name of these haats is Bhagoria. It is a true runaway wedding that the tribals of Madhya Pradesh follow.
In Bhagoria dance, various formation, like, Pali, Chakrapali and Pyramid dance postures are the center of attraction. Girls dressed in colorful costumes and dancing with arrows in their hands is a typical traditional and supernatural structure. The next performance was the performance of Gond Gudumbaja by Lalta Ram Maravi. Gudumbaja dance is a traditional dance of the sub-caste of the Gond tribe. This tribe also has a long tradition of playing Gudum. Along with instruments like Gudum, Duff, Manjira, Timki etc., playing and dancing is done on the tunes of Shehnai. Particularly on marriages and other ceremonial occasions, artists of this caste are compulsorily invited to perform Manglik. The third presentation was given by Korku Tribal Thapti. In dance, teamki, chitkora, danced using cymbals. During the dance, men dance wearing dhoti kurta and women in saree.
