language technology

and efforts being made in the field of language technology by the Government of India’

Highlighting the employment opportunities in language technology, he said that today there is a trend of artificial intelligence whose part is natural language processing. It shows the ability of a computer to understand human language. NLP has employment opportunities for two types of people - linguists and software developers. Under NLP, we can create many things including chatbot, translator in self-language.

Today many big companies like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon etc are working towards the use of technology in Indian languages, but the results are not satisfactory. For this it is necessary that we Indians come forward and collect data of different languages of India and work on it ourselves. The new era is based on technology; if today we do not work on language technology then our languages can become extinct.

Addressing the youth, he said that in the coming times, a lot of opportunities will ve available on language technology. Many college students can apply in universities for internship in this field. A lot of data in this field is made available to a researcher free of cost by government institutions.
