How apt is it to herald good times with a call for love, peace and communal harmony? Such was the tone of the grand finale of the Bengaluru Habba with the true spirit of Kingfisher.So, Saturday last saw sitar maestro Anoushka Shankar arouse the skies with the composition Voice of the Moon. And Bangalore���s music aficionados delved deep into this special call for happy times.
Sunday night had the Ajmeri Brothers, a Sufi music ensemble, call for harmony and brotherhood in these times ridden with hatred and war. In rolled the spirit of the king of good times even as the audiences hummed along to the positive notes of these quawwalis. Even as voices belted out Mujhe Ishq Ho Gaya Hai in unison with the Ajmeris, the perky band Mrigaya took the stage to carry the grand evening forth.
And they did, in true Kingfisher style! There was mirth, laughter and much swaying along as this multi-cultural group presented a bouquet of classical, rock and Sufi music in a delectable fusion.Namma Habba, Namma Kingfisher, we heard the connoisseurs cheers on. And we saw the good times roll on
