Bengaluru welcomes lifting of night curfew, but with caution

People have been queuing up for their favourite grub
From Monday, the 10 pm-5 am

night curfew

that was in place to curb the spread of

COVID

, was lifted. We visited hotspots in the city to check out the scene and found that while some restaurants and pubs did have crowds after 10 pm, others said they felt it would take more time for people to come in as they had got used to the early deadline.

Popular eateries and joints did see people queuing up to get their favourite grub, and the hospitality industry is thrilled that they can now resume operations in a normal fashion, following the slump in business.

"There is still some anxiety among people. But we expect them to get back to their older routines in the coming weeks, especially during weekends. We also welcome this proactive move by the government, which acted much quicker compared to the last two waves. We understand there was apprehension with regard to the new variant. We are happy that this has been less damaging. We are hoping to get back to business with all safety protocols in place," says
