Sunday afternoon was all about the colours of the rainbow, as members of the city’s LGBTQIA+ community and their allies turned up in large numbers for the Namma Pride Bengaluru Karnataka Queer Habba. From colourful hairdos, outfits and flags to show their pride in being a part of the community, participants made sure that the walk from Tulsi Park to Town Hall was a sight to behold, as they cheered and raised slogans along the way.
Interestingly enough, the participants this time around spanned different generations and races, as well as a whole lot of the city’s student fraternity, which added to the colourful nature of the march. But amid all the revelry, they also made sure to raise their voice against pertinent issues like the Transgender Person Rights Bill 2019 and the day also included discussions about
human rights, equality and more.
