Students celebrated Marathi Language Day with bhajans and abhangas
Every year February 27 is observed as
Marathi Language Day
in Maharashtra and Goa with various educational institutes celebrating the day with numerous cultural programs. The day is observed on the birthday of eminent Marathi PoetVishnu Vaman Shirwadkar
(also known asKusumagraj
). As the celebrations flooded across various schools and colleges in the city, Saraswati Bhuvan Primary School inAurangabad
celebrated in a traditional manner. The students of the school were dressed in traditional attire as part of celebration Marathi Language Day. They sang Marathi bhajans and abhangas that also included playing of manjira or jalra to mark the occasion.end of article
