Aurangabadkars marked Holi festivities with Holika Dahan

On the auspicious occasion of Holika Dahan, people in

Aurangabad

welcomed the festival by

burring Holika

. Holi that marks the victory of good over evil by killing of

Holika

–an asura in order to save Prahlad, a devotee of God Vishnu was observed by the city-goers.

A grand burning of Holika took place at the Ganpati temple of Raja Bazar where people gathered in large numbers for the celebration. After attending the aarti at temple, they gathered to say prayers around the pyre. They offered flowers and coconuts to mark the festivity.
