. Dressed in

saffron

phetas, and holding saffron flags, they went around the city to celebrate the day. The main attraction of the rally was women participation. Young women and children paid tribute to Rajmata Jijabai - the mother of Maratha empire founder Shivaji with their active participation as they came dressed up for the event donning traditional sarees and phetas.
