Aurangabadkars bask into Chhath Puja celebrations at Deolai Lake
After the five-day-long Diwali festivities, comes the auspicious celebration of
Chhath
Puja. It is one of the most prominent festivals of Bihar, however, people across India celebrate it across the country. Aurangabadkars too, celebrated the festival in the city recently.The four-day festivity was celebrated atDeolai Lake
near the city. Men and women observed fast on these days and offered prayer to theSun
God and Chhathi Mata, who as per tales is the sister of the Sun God. The devotees bathed in the holy water of Deolai Lake. As they did so, they offered sweets, fruits to the God of light and wished for health and prosperity. They also worship the setting and the rising sun.end of article
