Tom Cruise's son Connor Cruise is said to be furious about Caitlyn Jenner receiving the prestigious Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPY Awards next month. According to a report on Femalefirst.co.uk, Tom and Nicole's son said that there were more important things to talk about and other people who actually deserve an award. The aspiring DJ took to micro-blogging site Twitter to state that he had been misunderstood. He had initially posted, "Really?? Winning the AA award for courage?? Ashton is gonna come out and yell PUNK'D." Connor faced backlash for the same and clarified his stance by further posting, "Totally twisting what I said, if you read what I said I totally support being happy and am glad she is happy." He also added, "We just need to as a nation and a world get back to business and making everything a better place. Way more about the problems the world needs to solve than about her guys." [sic]

Bruce Jenner aka Caitlyn Jenner,, the Olympian and American reality TV star not only changed his gender, but also his name. From Bruce, she's now called Caitlyn Jenner. Caitlyn has received a lot of support from the entire Kardashian family, including former wife Kris, his children, his fans and even the media. The star took to Twitter to post, "I'm so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can't wait for you to get to know her/me." [sic] Caitlyn's followers on social media seem to have multiplied by and large. Reportedly, Chaz Bono - The Dancing with the Stars contestant was born as Chastity Sun Bono and is the sole child of Sonny and Cher. The American advocate, writer and musician underwent female-to-male gender transition between 2008-2010. Talking about the transition, Chaz, in his interview was quoted saying that his mother (Cher) would not pay for the surgeries and that she was not 100 percent comfortable with the sex change and that for her, it was a process.

Lana Wachowski - Born as Laurence Wachowski (Larry) , the Matrix co-director made headlines when rumours were rife in 2002 that she was transitioning from a man to woman. In 2012, Lana (formerly Larry) made her first public appearance as a woman post the transition in a video discussing the creative process behind Cloud Atlas. This makes her the first Hollywood director to come out as a transgender. According to an interview, the director spoke about how for years, she couldn't even say the words transgender and transsexual. She further stated that when she finally began to admit it to herself, she knew she would have to tell her parents and siblings.

Alexis is an actress, musician, and cabaret performer and is known for her roles in movies like Pulp Fiction, Killer Drag Queens on Dope, She's All That, Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror and TV shows like Friends, Xena: Warrior Princess and American Playhouse to name a few. The film and TV actress, best known for her portrayal of Sophia Burset on the Netflix television series Orange Is the New Black, does not take to this description well. According to a report, Cox appeared on CBS This Morning and corrected Gayle King when he said that Cox was born a boy. She begged to differ and said she was assigned male at birth. Further to the report, Cox recounted on the show her traumatic experiences while growing up and how she was bullied for not acting the way someone assigned as male at birth was supposed to act. Winner of multiple awards, Cox has been named as one of the 'World's Most Beautiful Women' by People.

The Brazil-born supermodel was raised in Italy and began hormone replacement therapy in 2008, as per a report, she was also quoted telling Oprah that there was a lot of pressure on her and her life. A Givenchy muse, Lea is the face for many big brands and has carved a niche for herself in the modelling industry. She is also a pop culture icon of transgender advocacy in the LGBT community.
