Tiger 3 vs The Marvels to Sooryavanshi vs Eternals: Bollywood films that clashed with Marvel movies at the box office

The box office has often become a battleground as it has witnessed cinematic clashes between Bollywood and Hollywood giants. Over the years, these clashed between local and international cinema have become more frequent and ignighted competition and boosting business. While some times, both put up an impressive fight, other times, the audience tip the scales to define one clear winner. From Salman Khan's spy film Tiger 3 going up against Brie Larson's The Marvels to Akshay Kumar's Sooryavanshi battling the Eternals, here's a list of Bollywood films that clashed with Marvel superhero movies at the box office.

Tiger 3 vs The Marvels

The battle between Salman Khan's Tiger 3 and Brie Larson's The Marvels set pulses racing in the entertainment industry. While Salman's charisma and action-packed sequences and taking monopoly over IMAX screens are luring his loyal fanbase, Marvel's first all-female superhero-led film is set to put up an incredible fight, especially with rave reviews coming in from audiences and fans alike. We'll have to wait until next weekend to see which film triumphed at the Diwali box office this year.

The Kerala Story vs Guardians of the Galaxy 3

Pulling off a surprise at the box office, Adah Sharma managed to tip the scales in her favour as she beat Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 at the box office. Right from day 1, the controversial film took the lead over the James Gunn film which was also the last film in the Guardians franchise.

Shehzada vs Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania

Riding high on the success of Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, Kartik Aaryan found himself clashing with 'Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania'. Despite Kartik's star power, the Marvel superhero flick with the force of the multiverse behind it, proved to be a formidable opponent. The clash brought back the challenges for Bollywood films when competing with the global appeal and massive fan base of superhero franchises.

5/7

Sooryavanshi vs Eternals

Rohit Shetty's cop-drama Sooryavanshi faced off against Marvel's Eternals over the Diwali weekend. The high-octane cop action film starring Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh proved to be too much to handle for even the ensemble Eternals cast that ended up losing the box office battle. Sooryavanshi went on to become the highest earning film of the year with a haul of around Rs 300 crore.

6/7

Badla vs Captain Marvel

This is not Brie Larson's first clash at the Indian box office. Back in 2019, when she made her stand-alone appearance in Captain Marvel, she had to face-off against Taapsee Pannu and Amitabh Bachchan's Badla. With all the hype around the new superhero, Captain Marvel scored a big win at the Indian box office.

1920 London vs Captain America_ Civil War

The horror film 1920 London could not scare off the joined forces of Captain America and Iron Man in the Russo Brothers' Captain America: Civil War. While the marvel film went on to score a Rs 100 crore box office collection, 1920 London was forgotten.
