Dwayne Johnson’s latest project, ‘The Smashing Machine,’ has been creating a lot of buzz online. The film premiered its first screening at the Venice Film Festival, leaving
Johnson and co-star
Emily Blunt in tears over the reception. Now, the online reviews about the film are out, and fans just cannot seem to get enough of Dwayne’s new look.
Online reviews for ‘The Smashing Machine’
The initial reviews of 'The Smashing Machine' have taken the internet by storm, with many praising Johnson’s new role away from his usual ‘action-packed’ projects. One person praised the actor’s performance and shared, “#TheSmashingMachine is a sincerely raw sports biopic on the gritty & brutal, real & emotional fights we face in & out the ring. Johnson bleeds vulnerability onto the screen in an undisputed knockout performance worth every ounce of blood, sweat & tears. Blunt the PERFECT match”.
Another comment about the film read, “THE SMASHING MACHINE finds Dwayne Johnson delivering an earnest and endearing performance in a film that rarely finds itself breaking convention. Kerr’s conflict has little variety, but Safdie tries to invest in his journey. Blunt does her best to uplift a badly written role”.
Fans also commended him for going “out of his comfort zone” and for taking on something completely different compared to the kind of projects that he is used to starring in. The comment read, “Dwayne Johnson has never been better because he’s FINALLY stepped outside his comfort zone. As Mark Kerr, he gives us a hearty performance of blood, sweat, and tears. More of this from him, please! Emily Blunt is a treasure as his girlfriend, Dawn. And Ryan Bader is also a highlight as Mark Coleman”.
