Mario is ready to move beyond the Mushroom Kingdom, and high above Princess Peach’s castle – in the galaxy! The sequel to the hit ‘Super Mario Bros. Movie’ will be surfing through the land to reach the skies with its release on April 6, 2025.

About 'Super Mario Galaxy Movie'

‘Super Mario Galaxy Movie’ takes the name from its inspiration, ‘Super Mario Galaxy,’ the hit video game released in 2007. The announcement came on the 40th anniversary of the original video game, which is September 13, 2025, with the release of the teaser. The clip featured Mario sleeping under a tree, and the point of view follows the gorgeous yellow butterfly. As the creature moved, the audience saw quick glimpses of Monty Mole burrowing underground, Cheep Cheeps swimming in a stream, and Toads hustling around the castle, according to Variety. The butterfly then goes towards Princess Peach’s castle, only to rise straight up towards the galaxy filled with stars under a purple scene.

The prolific artists of the film

Continuing the legacy, the voice actors for the new film are the same as those of the 2023 hit film, including an all-star voice cast of Chris Pratt as Mario, Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Charlie Day as Luigi, Jack Black as Bowser, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad, and Kevin Michael Richardson as Kamek.

The record-breaking scores

The previous film, ‘Super Mario Bros. Movie,’ became a smashing hit at the theatres, with the audience being obsessed, as well as at the box office, with the money that hardly stopped minting. The Nintendo film sits at the fifth-highest-grossing animated film of all time behind ‘Ne Zha 2,’ ‘Inside Out 2,’ ‘The Lion King,’ and ‘Frozen 2.’ Meanwhile, Wes Ball’s directorial of the ‘Legend of Zelda’ movie will be released on March 26, 2027.
