American rapper Offset was shot in Florida on Monday.
The Migos rapper was reportedly shot outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida and was rushed to hospital, where he is currently in stable, TMZ reports
A spokesperson for the artist confirmed the incident in a statement to Variety, saying, “We can confirm Offset was shot and is currently at the hospital receiving medical care. He is stable and being closely monitored.”
Details surrounding the shooting are currently limited and investigations into the matter are ongoing. According to reports authorities have not yet released any further details about the circumstances that led to the shooting or any list of potential suspects.
Offset, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, is a member of the hip-hop group Migos. He was previously married to Cardi B, with whom he shares two children.
The incident comes years after tragedy struck the group, when fellow Migos member Takeoff was fatally shot in November 2022.
In October 2020, Offset was detained by the Beverly Hills Police Department near a rally for carrying a concealed weapon, but he was released shortly after. Prior to that, the rapper also faced a felony charge for possession of three handguns and drug possession in April 2019.
Offset has had numerous run-ins with law enforcement over the past few years. He spent time in jail in 2013 and 2015 after previous felony drug and weapons charges, according to Rolling Stone. He spent eight months in jail in 2015, and also served five years of probation.
No further updates on Offset’s condition or the investigation have been released at the time of publishing this article.Get the latest entertainment updates from the Times of India, along with the
