Jackpot Trailer: John Cena turns Awkwafina's saviour in this hilarious chase for a grand lottery

Looking for something hilarious with a good dose of action, then Jackpot! is right up your alley! Starring Awkwafina and John Cena, this movie was originally titled Grand Death Lotto. It follows Katie (played by Awkwafina), a struggling actress, after she suddenly wins a massive Jackpot in the lottery. However, things start to go sideways after she discovers that, in California, anyone who can kill the lottery winner before sundown is legally entitled to the money she won. With the help of amateur lottery protection agent Noel (John Cena), Katie has to try and survive the murderous hordes of people until the sun sets.



Alongside the main stars, Awkwafina's co star from Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, Simu Liu, will be returning to play Louis Lewis, the head of the biggest lottery protection agency in California. Noel reluctantly calls in a favor with him to help protect Katie, who he'll get a cut of the prize from if he manages to keep her alive until sundown, but Louis has other plans and intends to take what he calls “the biggest Jackpot of all time” for himself. The rest of the cast includes stars like Seann William Scott, Ayden Mayeri, Donald Elise Watkins, Dolly de Leon, Michael Hitchcock, Leslie David Baker, Becky Ann Baker, Sam Asghari, Adam Ray, Murray Hill, Taylor Ortega, and Holmes.

Directed by Paul Feig and written by Rob Yescombe, the film will premiere on August 15 on Prime Video. Along with the movie trailer, the makers announced the opening of a Jackpot!-themed sweepstakes— and don't worry, there's no murder involved in this one.
