It was a rocky road for Hollywood's biggest stars this 2021. Whether it was Alec Baldwin's freak shooting accident on set or Travis Scott's tragic stampede at his concert or Rihanna's fiery Tweet that had the Indian Foreign Ministry stepping in, here's a list of the biggest controversies that rocked Hollywood.

Alec Baldwin made headlines around the world in October when his prop gun fired a live bullet that killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins on the New Mexico set of their film 'Rust'. However, the biggest twist in the case came after the actor claimed he 'didn't pull the trigger' and added that he did not feel 'guilt'.

“Someone is responsible for what happened, and I can’t say who that is, but it’s not me,” Baldwin said in an interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos. The actor was seen getting emotional while answering questions about the fatal shooting and even said that he might have killed himself if he felt responsible for the death.

Rapper Travis Scott made waves this year after partner Kylie Jenner announced she is pregnant with their second child. However, on the professional front, Scott ran into a $10 billion lawsuit following the tragedy that broke out at the Astroworld music concert which he was headlining. A stampede reportedly broke out during the show that lead to the death of 10 people, including two children. The singer currently has more than 300 lawsuits against him over injuries and deaths at the concert.

Actor Chris Noth, who starred in 'Sex and the City' and appeared briefly in its newly released sequel 'And Just Like That...' rocked headlines this December when he was accused of rape by two women in separate incidents. Noth denied the allegations as "categorically false" and said that the incidents from 2004 and 2015 were "consensual". However, shortly after news broke, a third woman also came forward to accuse the 67-year-old actor.

A single tweet by pop star Rihanna on the farmer protests in India led to the perfect storm. Her six-word tweet, “Why aren’t we talking about this?!” started a chain reaction after which, the world spoke of little else. While the farmers rejoiced and Diljit Dosanjh literally sang praise of 'RiRi', other Indian movie stars, sportspersons, and even the Foreign Ministry slammed her for allegedly being a part of a "plot to divide India."
